Looks like the Smoking Man is channeling Two-Face. Considering the amount of damage he took back in season nine of the series, the fact that this is the only piece of him (that we know of) that is removable is actually something of a win for the bad guy. Sure, he's literally in pieces, but there could be a lot more of them. Honestly, he's pretty tough for an old dude. Still, the living skull look made us go WTF several times over.
