Probably more likely than a full series with the original cast, but less likely than several other possibilities. The important thing about this option, however, is that it doesn't rule out future productions. Simply tying up the alien mythology - and only that - means that you can still do a spin-off series with a different focus. Or bring back Mulder and Scully for Monster of the Week specials. Or have a next generation style series follow it. In short, this would be an option to just get the mythology of the show over and done with, once and for all. If it is to end on the small screen, anyway.
