2. David Tennant's First Appearance Was The Christmas Invasion

On Christmas Day, 2005, the universe was finally introduced to the Tenth Doctor, undeniably one of the most iconic incarnations of the character, really the only other actor to rival the 4th Doctor's place as the most recognisable Doctor. For many years, Doctor Who featured a quick, small, short mini-episode, where we'd get a small adventure. This is how we got the great meeting between Doctors 5 and 10 in Time Crash. The Tenth Doctor was properly introduced to us in "Born Again."

This was a great episode that helped explain regeneration, explore how the relationship between Rose and the Doctor would handle their new dynamic, and set the scene for the Christmas special; as it stood, they appear in London on Christmas for no reason.

This was also the first time Billie Piper and David Tennant worked together on the show, as Billie wasn't actually on set for David's first shot at the end of "Parting of the Ways," which was shot months later!
