So far, it's safe to say that DC's Titans is a strange beast. On one hand, it's weighed down by over-the-top violence and an intentionally "edgy" approach, but there is something so compelling about it that it's impossible to look away. With convincing reinventions of iconic DC characters and a deep-rooted mystery that is actually quite thrilling, the positives of the series have, so far, managed to outshine the negatives.

Last week saw the introductions of Hawk, Dove and The Nuclear Family, but it did so at the expense of some of the show's main characters. This week's instalment, 'Origins' rectified that, at least somewhat, as all four of the protagonists featured in some kind of role - with some even receiving the flashback treatment to give us a little more insight into their troubled lives.

By showing us their past, the episode has given us the chance to become more invested in their futures as we finally know more about the characters, and the overall narrative. It's a slow burn, but an engaging one nonetheless... even if it's not all perfect.
