2. The Prison Setting

Dick's attempts to redeem himself only began with assaulting the federal officers at the airport, but it led him to a 7-year prison sentence at Kane County Correctional Facility.

The prison environment lent itself nicely to the show's gritty tone, and allowed us all to see how Dick coped, especially when a disgruntled security guard revealed that he was a detective.

The episode was appropriately violent, heightening the sense of discomfort for Dick and keeping viewers on the edges of their seat throughout while the camerawork was beautifully invasive - allowing us to see ever-so brief glimpses of doubt on his face whenever he found himself in a situation that could have been avoided.
