True Blood: 10 Answers We Must Get In The Final Season

3. Who Is Eric's New Girl, Sylvie?

Since we brought it up, another unanswered question has been raised with the upcoming introduction of Eric€™s new love interest, Sylvie. Not much is known about the character other than she is French, in her twenties and beautiful. She will be introduced in the second episode of season seven and it remains to be seen how and when she will arrive. After the death of his sister/lover, Nora, Eric is due for a little affection as he mourns the loss and heals from the apparently serious wounds he sustained on his snowy mountain retreat. Viewers expectations are that he would end up with Sookie, a logical ending to their on-off romance. Now that their pairing seems off the board, the questions of who is Sylvie and why bring her into the story now are relevant. There is a lot to do in ten episodes and the danger lies in not having enough time to develop the new character enough to have fan€™s accept her or care that she is Eric€™s partner when the finale fades to black. Of course, as a lover of Eric, the odds are high she may end up dead by the end and the Nordic vampire riding off into some sunrise alone and remorseful. No matter the outcome, the question of Sylvie€™s identity is important to the resolution of Eric€™s story and therefore to the outcome of the overall expectations of the fans and the story itself.
