12. Answered: Does Wayne Remember Why He Came To See The Woman?

One of the most heartbreaking moments of the season came in its final few minutes. Wayne Hays is right there, there’s the woman he believes is who he had been searching for for 35-years, and right when he’s about to get his answers, he forgets why he’s there. Many fans saw a moment in Mahershala Ali’s face where it seems as though he may have remembered, as the look in his eyes intensifies.

A fan asked, “Spoiler warning: Did Hayes know who it was at the end of the episode when he got lost, or did he really forget?” To which the creator replied a very unsubtle, “He really forgot.”

Rather anticlimactic an answer, but a sort of wicked irony that Hays was so close to the answer, but time and aging made it impossible to resolve.
