Who knew that the inner office politics of what to get your boss when his father dies was such a strategic operation. Muffin baskets are so ten years ago, catering for a 75 person dinner is the norm and charitable donations are deemed too impersonal. This is the predicament Bev, Matt and Sean find themselves in when Merc€™s Father suddenly dies, this is made all the more complicated by the fact Pucks is under performing and Matt is sleeping with Merc€™s wife. Funeral etiquette is very different in La La land and news of Matthew Broadrick becoming available after his NBC deal fell through manages to interrupt the service. Sean€™s night with Morning finally comes out to a quietly devastated Beverly, The Jamie/Matt affair is a risky sub plot, despite his womanizing and general thoughtlessness, the series creator has still made Matt LeBlanc likeable. Having a affair with the boss€™ wife who is also blind might be a step too far, after he slept with Beverly and destroyed her marriage you€™d think he would have learned his lesson. Instead he merely shrugs his shoulder and says he can€™t help it, but as it€™s long been established that Merc is having his own affair with XX. This makes LeBlanc€™s actions somewhat justified, and as he appears to be falling in love the relationship is given some validation. Just like last week€™s installment this was light of big laughs, despite the signs for a possible reconciliation between Sean and Bev looking unlikely at the moment, that may well change before the end of the series. This was another solid episode but they need to get the focus back to making Pucks, as so far it€™s starting the verge towards being more about who€™s sleeping with who. Next week€™s installment looks set to get the show back on track, and Episodes continues Friday at 10pm on BBC Two.
