6. The Maze Is A Metaphor

Tied into the Man in Black and the multiple storylines was 'the maze'. A mysterious object or place, finding it was his sole desire.

When he first started referencing it, it sounded like a physical other level; an actual maze to be figured out.

Instead, it turned out to really just be a metaphor, and itself based on a toy Arnold's son used to play with. The maze, it turns out, was about achieving concsiousness, and was for the hosts, not the Man in Black.
