In The Comics

Claire Temple was a doctor (and former nurse) who became fascinated by Luke Cage's inability to be physically harmed when they first met. She would soon become a key love interest for Luke during the character's early days.

Meanwhile, Linda Carter (aka Night Nurse), was a skilled nurse who donned her work clothes (later adding a cape) to moonlight as a caregiver for injured superheroes. This was her way of returning the favor after being saved by one. Along the way, she became close with the likes of Daredevil, Doctor Strange, and Captain America.

In The Show

Claire Temple is an amalgamation of the two aforementioned characters and thus features an original look. However, she does carry over the original Claire's relationship with Luke Cage, Night Nurse's role of patching up masked heroes, as well as the medical prowess of both. She has appeared in every Marvel Netflix series thus far and when not in casual dress, can usually be seen in her nurse's scrubs.

In The Defenders, Claire joins the team in their bid to save New York from The Hand.
