Josie and the Pussycats, one of Archie Comics' most famous set of characters, are a three-piece pop rock band made up of the red-headed frontwoman, Josie, the blonde Melody, and the dark-haired Valerie.

In The Show

The group is still the iconic three-woman band they've always been, but with the key difference being that now, instead of one of them (Valerie) being African-American, all three are. Josie is also the daughter of Mayor McCoy and Myles McCoy, a famous jazz musician unhappy with Josie's style of music. In addition, Valerie had a brief relationship with Archie.
