X-Men ’97: 10 Things We Want To See
10. Retrieving Professor X From The Sh'iar
In the final episode of X-Men: The Animated Series, mutant hater Henry Gyrich blasted Professor Charles Xavier, leaving him at death's door. Realising no technology on Earth could heal Professor X, the X-Men had him transported across the galaxy where the Sh'iar empire healed him. Because Xavier needed constant care, his students accepted the fact that they would never see their mentor again.
Since there's no way you can have an X-Men revival without the team's creator, it's likely the show will start with the merry mutants making plans to retrieve the professor. Because the show's writers, Eric and Julia Lewald, planned another season, there was a draft written for this exact scenario. In this new season, the X-Men would've disbanded after becoming disillusioned by the world's growing hatred towards mutants. But after receiving a psychic distress call from their teacher, the X-Men venture to space to help Xavier and find a way to bring him home.
No plot points have been disclosed about the upcoming show but it's probable that elements from this draft will make their way into X-Men '97.
