Young Justice: Outsiders - 6 Major Questions After The First Three Episodes
6. What Happened To Princess Tara?
Young Justice: Outsiders may revolve primarily around the present-day meta-human trafficking situation in Markovia, but the inciting incident was undoubtedly the abduction of Princess Tara two years prior to this. The later revelation that Tara's older brother, Brion, possesses the meta-gene confirms that she was also likely a metahuman and thus, was kidnapped for experimentation and possible weaponisation of her potential metahuman abilities.
As we saw throughout the three-part premiere, thanks to the involvement of Otto and Ana Von Furth, the kidnapped children's meta-gene's were activated, transforming them into lava-spewing monsters. But outside of these two versions of Plasmus, the Justice League hadn't come across any similar types of metahumans before. So that leaves us with the question: what happened to Princess Tara?
With Ana's heart giving out and her subsequent death, it's clear that the experiments are still far from being considered a "success". So that leaves us wondering if Tara was one of the earliest kidnappings and, as a result, succumbed to the imperfect experimentations. However, given Count Vertigo's reluctance to experiment on a royal (after Brion turned up at Bedlam's facility), it's unlikely that he would have risked experimenting on Tara.
So while her whereabouts is currently still unknown, it's more than likely that we haven't seen the last of the Markovian Princess.
