5 Burning Question That Will Be Answered At UFC 236
5. Can Max Holloway Become A 2-Divison Champ?
UFC featherweight champ Max Holloway is currently riding a 13-fight winning streak, with recent victories over stars like Brian Ortega, Jose Aldo, and Anthony Pettis. In fact, he hasn't lost a fight since his 2013 bout with Conor McGregor.
Having essentially cleaned out his division, Holloway will move up to lightweight in an effort to capture the interim strap and become a 2-division champ. Standing in his way will be the well-rounded lightweight contender, Dustin Poirier. Poirier has won his last three bouts against some the best fighters in the division — including former champs Eddie Alvarez and Anthony Pettis.
The two previously fought back in February of 2012, which was Holloway's UFC debut. That evening, it was Poirier who got his hand raised, having won the contest via first round submission.
At UFC 236, we will find out if Holloway can avenge his first loss with the promotion and become just the seventh fighter to win UFC titles in multiple weight classes.
