10 "New" Tag Teams That Failed Miserably In WWE
10. The New Dream Team
In the mid-80s, Brutus Beefcake and Greg Valentine became a formidable tag team known as The Dream Team, originally managed by Luscious Johnny V and Jimmy Hart.
The first version of the Dream Team was a very successful unit. They captured the WWF World Tag Team Championships in 1985 and played integral parts in the Federation's tag team division for the first three WrestleManias. The second iteration of the team, The New Dream Team, not so much.
At WrestleMania III, The Dream Team disbanded when Valentine abandoned Brutus, leaving the ring with Dino Bravo. Bravo became Valentine's new partner, forming the New Dream Team, and Beefcake quickly transitioned into his most famous gimmick ever, Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake. The New Dream Team didn't achieve half the success of the original Dream Team and soon went their separate ways.
Judging by the letdown that was the New Dream Team as a tag team redux, WWE would have been wise to cut their losses here. Instead, they'd continue to try and recreate classic tag teams over the next several years.
