10 AEW Stars Who Are Perfect For Ring Of Honor

10. Colt Cobana

Let’s start with the obvious one, and one that has already been heavily rumoured. Colt Cabana is indie wrestling royalty, and for some reason, it feels like not enough respect is put on the man’s name.

Whilst he has never ascended to the heights of other Ring of Honor alumni, Cabana spent numerous years associated with the company either side of his terrible run with the WWE. In fact, he even held the ROH Tag Team Championships twice with his former best friend, CM Punk.

Nowadays, Cabana is no more than an afterthought in the world of AEW, with the stacked roster and the dwindling interest in the Dark Order all but ending any chance he has of gaining attention. There is also some uneasy talk that the unresolved issues with CM Punk have also impacted his role.

Which is a shame, because Boom Boom is a wonderfully gifted performer, with bundles of charisma, likability and technical prowess. With the rebirth of Ring of Honor, Tony Khan would be wise to move Cabana across, and use him as a wildly respected gatekeeper, similar to the role Dustin Rhodes has performed admirably since AEW’s inception.

And, if somehow, down the line, he and CM Punk can bury the hatchet, there is one more nostalgia run staring them both right in the face.
