10 ALMOST Impossible Wrestling Comebacks That Might Actually Happen
6. Paige
It's been over a year since Paige stepped between the ropes, but her absence has been anything but uneventful.
Drafted to Raw away from real-life partner Alberto Del Rio in 2016, Paige never appeared on the red brand after the split, with her sudden hiatus attributed to a serious neck injury. Though surgery was due to occur later in the year, she'd remain absent after back-to-back Wellness Policy violations that exposed a fractious relationship with the company at large.
Discounting her first suspension as a 'procedural issue', she then tweeted her frustration over the second, noting that it was down to prescription pain medication she was taking due to her injury. WWE fired back quickly, noting she had tested for 'an illegal substance, not a prescription drug', which called to question her legitimacy at a time where she'd faced intense scrutiny in her personal life thanks to the relationship with Del Rio.
Though more strife with WWE could follow after she was spotted in the front row of Impact Wrestling's Slammiversary pay-per-view, she has posted pictures and videos signposting a return to action, and the company would be foolish not to make the most of her enhanced presence for the remainder of her existing deal.
