10 Arguments WWE Fans Will Probably Never Stop Debating
5. Was Stone Cold Or Hulk Hogan The Bigger Draw?
When you think about the biggest superstars in the history of the WWE, there are really only two names to consider: Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Sure, John Cena is making a case for himself, and The Rock was always nipping at Austin's heels, but in terms of overall influence and drawing power, it will always be Hogan and Austin.
Both superstars helped propel a dying form of entertainment back into the mainstream spotlight, literally saving the business from collapsing in on itself.
So who was the bigger savior? Without Hulkamania running wild in the '80s, The Texas Rattlesnake wouldn't have even had a chance to stomp a mudhole through the company. But does being first automatically make someone the best?
After all, both superstars sold out arenas on the strength of their names and their names alone. And Vince has gone on record as saying that Austin earned the company more money than Hogan. On the other hand, Hogan was a bigger draw for a longer period of time than Austin.
So is money or longevity more important? And do we factor in how ridiculously expensive tickets were during the Attitude Era? Do we say that Austin did as much for the business in a few years as Hogan did over the course of a decade, and thus, had more of an impact during his run?
