10 Awesome Wrestling Moments You Won't Believe NEVER Happened

4. Triple H Feuding With The Master Of The 619

And while on the subject of matches involving 'The King of Kings' that amazingly never came to fruition on WWE programming, Triple H also falls into the category of top star never to compete in a singles bout against the legendary Rey Mysterio.

This actually ranks as one of 'The Game's most desired dream feuds, too, with WWE's Chief Content Officer admitting last year to LADBible (via 411Mania) that he regularly pitched for the two to meet in the middle of the ring one-on-one over the years. Yet, despite evidently wanting it to become a reality, Trips wasn't able to convince his father-in-law to book the intriguing contest in the end.

The pair would famously make it to the final three of the 2006 Royal Rumble, with 'Rey-Rey' eliminating 'The Cerebral Assassin' on his way to winning the match after both men entered in the #1 and #2 spots.

But away from that thrilling Rumble closing stretch, Mysterio and Triple H only ever really shared the ring in tag contests during their time together as part of the WWE roster. And with the one-time Evolution leader now very much retired, this one will forever sit as yet another baffling main event missed opportunity.
