WWE tour the United Kingdom twice annually. The company have even booked an NXT jaunt around the country in 2015. Fans in Britain aren't quite as starved for pro wrestling as they used to be, but there's still a demand for a major WWE pay-per-view to hit these shores. Independent wrestling is thriving in the UK, and a major WWE show could be the cherry on top of the cake. The last pay-per-view style show to take place in the UK was way back in June, 2003. Insurrextion was held in Newcastle, and was headlined by a Street Fight between Kevin Nash and Triple H over the World Heavyweight Title. By the time the Summer of 2016 rolls around, that will have been 13 years ago, which is a truly sobering thought. It's high time WWE promoted another pay-per-view in the country. Episodes of Raw and Smackdown are filmed in the UK, but that's not the same as a major event. A few years ago, there were talks that WWE would bring SummerSlam to England. Time difference problems were cited as an issue, but the WWE Network changes that. WWE have promoted events in places like Japan since, so 2016 must be the year they fill out a major stadium in the UK.
