10 Backstage Stories About Seth Rollins You Should Know

10. Almost Got Fired While In NXT

Seth Rollins is one of the most decorated superstars in WWE history, with 16 title reigns to his beyond his other accolades, including his Money in the Bank and Royal Ruble wins. But he would not have achieved any of these feats if it weren't for the reality check he got from Triple H during his time in NXT.

Rollins was already making strides on the independent circuit as Tyler Black, and was a former ROH World Champion when he signed with WWE in 2010. He started with FCW, where he trained and performed until WWE rebranded it into NXT in 2012.

He found a mentor in Dusty Rhodes during his time in NXT, and The American Dream advised Rollins to be himself. But the advice had its pros and cons, as being himself led to Rollins butting heads with trainer Terry Taylor on multiple occasions.

When this reached Triple H's ears, he pulled Rollins aside and told him that he didn't see anything special in him and that he had to start doing things their way and fix his attitude if he intended to stay with WWE.

After this interaction, Rollins went to Joey Mercury for some advice, and the latter told him to learn how to play the game and be himself while also being coachable. Rollins then adjusted himself to the WWE environment and found himself pitching to Triple H the idea of him becoming the inaugural NXT Champion.
