Trust is an important factor in being likable. Betraying another character's trust is often used as a catalyst towards a turn to the dark side. Throughout WWE history, many babyfaces used an act of betrayal to facilitate their heel turn. Some wrestlers that come to mind are Jake "The Snake" Roberts, "The Model" Rick Martel and, of course, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels. When done right, this characterization can lead to real heat from the live crowds, but like other aspects of the bad guy character today, it is not seen too often. Typically, the dishonorable character comes about as a result of a babyface gone bad. These days, when babyfaces turn their lack of trustworthiness is often underplayed and not utilized as part of their new character quite as much as it should be. Instead, they are driven by greed or power and often fall under that cowardly heel banner.
