10 Behind The Scenes Secrets WWE Don't Want You To Know
2. Crowd Noises
Probably one of WWE's most embarrassing secrets is that they've once or twice been caught - or so we all think - adding crowd noises onto their hows in post in order to convince viewers watching on TV that wrestlers are getting the desired reaction.
In all fairness, it's not like this isn't common practice in other television shows ostensibly filmed in front of a live audience. Nobody finds Two and a Half Men that funny, but they add the laughter in to make it seem more fun and lighthearted.
The problem is, in WWE, the product is supposed to be interactive. Fans are supposed to be the ones who get the final say on who reaches the top of the wrestling ladder (and don't just take our word on it: Triple H said as much to CM Punk a few years ago).
Canned crowd noises, then, just come across a little lazy and desperate. It's as though they've lost the ability to create larger-than-life Stone Cold Steve Austin-like stars and have to resort to pretending they have one instead.
