10 Behind The Scenes Secrets WWE Don't Want You To Know

5. Whoever Sets Up The Spot Is Taking It

Generally speaking, whoever sets up a table - be it in the corner of the ring or on the outside (particularly if multiple are stacked on top of one another) - is the one who is getting launched through it a couple of minutes later.

It's not really clear what the logic behind this one is. It could be that the wrestler taking the fall needs to know exactly where they're supposed to land, especially if they're supposed to drop from inside the ring while facing inwards on the turnbuckle or ladder.

Alternatively, it could just be an attempt at swerving the crowd. Like when an evil mob leader in an action movie gets pushed into their own shark-infested pool, after spending the preceding hour threatening other people with it.

This doesn't just apply to table spots either. If you bring a bag of thumbtacks into the ring or start throwing gasoline around, you're probably going to end up screaming in agony. That could be the explanation, incidentally: it's meant to warn impressionable children off replicating their heroes at home. Try and hurt someone else, and you'll get hurt yourself.
