10 Best Candidates To Induct DDP Into WWE Hall Of Fame 2017
10. Eric Bischoff
It’s no secret that Dallas Page and Eric Bischoff had a close personal relationship outside of the business during DDP’s time with World Championship Wrestling. They were friends and neighbors and both men have gone on record stating that the WCW head honcho went out of his way to avoid looking like he was granting Page any preferential treatment.
In fact, it may be their friendship that stunted DDP’s ascension up the ladder, as Eric purposely held him down so as not to be accused of impropriety, when an argument could be made that his push should have happened long before it did.
DDP is an example of someone who continued climbing uphill despite all the obstacles in his way, and buddies or not Eric Bischoff was eventually forced to acknowledge the rising tide of support and run with Page as one of his top babyfaces. It was a position that he excelled in and those who weren’t watching at the time probably don’t realize how insanely over he was for a period during the late 1990s. He could legitimately rival the WWE’s biggest stars in popularity for a while during his run.
Bischoff being the one to induct him would make a lot of sense, the former boss who made his close friend work harder than everyone else to achieve success. He also seems to be the odds-on favorite as Jim Ross predicted on his blog that Eric would be the one to get the call.
