7. Referees Look Out For Closed Fists
It's believable that a man the size of Big Show would cave your face in if he aimed a punch at it. That's why it's so easy to forgive WWE when they ignore the fact that closed fists are technically illegal during company matches. There might be some reading this that didn't even know that, but it's true.
Officials are supposed to admonish workers for balling up hands.
Not when Show tucks his fingers in and smashes someone with his big KO punch though. Oh no. That's typically met with a shocked reaction from the ref and a 'dead man' bump from rubber-legged opponents selling the impact. Though it doesn't make much sense, it somehow feels right.
Remember, referees would rarely disqualify someone unless they repeatedly performed illegal actions. Show doesn't; his punches are a one-off, match-ending strike that are realistically painful without resulting in a measly DQ.
