10 Best Lucha Libre Wrestlers Of All Time

7. Dos Caras

Dos Caras is the father of Alberto Del Rio, and, according to many people, €œthe greatest heavyweight ever to come out of Mexico€. This was because he was able to blend Mexico€™s Lucha Libre style of wrestling with a more American, mat-based style, seamlessly into one. He was a very popular and skilled wrestler during his prime years, and was a key player in a major split in Mexican wrestling. In 1975, several wrestlers, including Dos Caras, split from EMLL and formed the Universal Wrestling Association. This was because many of them were disgruntled with the whole €˜paying your dues€™ approach, insisting that some wrestlers€™ popularity would plummet if they were to spend long periods of time losing, instead of capitalizing on their popularity. It was thanks to this decision that Dos Caras was able to wrestle with fewer limitations and with different promotions, almost as a free agent. Eventually, he went back to EMLL, and despite his past disagreements with them, he was still able to achieve success by winning both the CMLL World and Mexican National Trios Championships. That says a lot about his skills as a wrestler and his popularity with the audience. Dos Caras still wrestles, and has been an integral force in his son€™s early years in the business. He is a great Mexican wrestler, and his career successes speak for themselves.
