10. Alex Riley Stands Up To The Miz

It's difficult to remember of a time when the WWE Universe actually cared about Alex Riley - or knew who he was for that matter - but Riley was initially on the path to being a breakout superstar in 2011.

After a year of being The Miz's bud having initially been his NXT student, Riley began winning the fans' adoration when Miz became hostile towards his friend and VP of Corporate Communications.

Failing to win the WWE Championship from John Cena in an "I Quit" Match, Miz blamed Riley for his shortcomings and fired him as a result. To the crowd's delight, Riley stood up for himself by unleashing a beatdown on The Miz to kickstart a run as an underdog face.

By 2013, all momentum had petered away.
