10 Best Simultaneous WWE Heavyweight Champions
5. CM Punk (WWE) & Daniel Bryan (World) - 2011
There was something incredibly pure about CM Punk and Daniel Bryan both becoming Raw and SmackDown Champions respectively in late-2011. So much so in fact, that an entire opening segment on Monday Night Raw was dedicated to the celebratory atmosphere around two hardened indie warriors making it to the top of Vince McMahon's wrestling empire.
In actuality, only Punk would be the real hero of the masses this time. Bryan was about to start a movement too, but the chants of "YES" that later carried him all the way to the WrestleMania main event were in fact used to garner heat around an increasingly obnoxious act he'd quietly been honing for months.
The aforementioned edition of the flagship saw Punk, Bryan and new United States Champion Zack Ryder toast a brighter tomorrow, but it was tragically another false dawn. Bryan and Ryder were badly bantered off before and at WrestleMania respectively, whilst Punk's run gradually ran out of juice around the 'Show Of Shows' in the shadow of company favourite John Cena.
The pair would both beat the machine in their own way eventually, but these were merely teasers of the differing bouts of chaos both would later endure.
