There's an old saying in professional wrestling: "The only way to become a successful professional wrestler is to have a pyro-assisted entrance that blinds the fans with its awesomeness". Ok, so that saying isn't really that old - or real - but there is a little bit of truth in it. Presentation is a big part of pro wrestling and a wrestler's entrance is a big opportunity to show a little flair. While many charismatic superstars have created incredible entrances without the aid of a single spark or fog machine, the truth is that having some explosives or fire to accompany you on the way to the ring sure does help with presentation and image. But as light heavyweight phenom Gillberg proved, having a couple of sparklers at your sides doesn't make you or your entrance great. The very best pyro is more than a mini New Years Eve celebration and instead perfectly compliments the performer, improves their entrance and says something about their character. There have been many uses of pyro over the years and the very best among them have been much more than simply a mass of colorful explosions. Well, except for one, of course, but...oh you'll see.
