A true indy dream match pitting Johnny Gargano’s incredible heart and soul against Kyle O’Reilly’s brutal striking and MMA-style grappling, this was a 2014 Match of the Year candidate.

Opening with a typical feeling-out process, some strikes, and some mat work, this one slowly unravelled into an all-out slap fight, then evolved with some innovative arm-work from Kyle and great selling from Gargano. A true technical masterpiece, this one drips with all the qualities that make Gargano such a likeable competitor, and is the perfect introduction to his style.
