10 Best WWE Divas Hired Thanks To The Diva Search

Maybe it's not so much a waste of time after all.

World Wrestling Entertainment is bringing back the Diva Search this year. We don't know what the format will be like, but it was announced during WrestleMania 31 weekend that their show to find the next top diva in WWE is returning. It's expected that it will air in the fall and likely be a WWE Network exclusive show as well.

There have been four Diva Search competitions with the first one taking place in 2004. That was won by Christy Hemme. In 2005, Ashley Massaro was the winner. Both Christy and Ashley also posed nude in Playboy after they got their WWE deals as well. The 2006 competition was won by Layla El, who is simply known as Layla and still works for WWE although she's not used that much anymore. The last Diva Search was a WWE.com only competition in 2007 that was won by Eve Torres.

A big reason why WWE did the Diva Search four times and why they are bringing it back is because it's a way for them to recruit female talent. In each previous season, they ended up hiring multiple women to developmental deals. Some of them worked out to be big stars. Others faded away quickly.

There are some divas, like The Bella Twins, that tried out of the Diva Search and didn't make the final cuts, but they were still hired by WWE. Candice Michelle didn't make the final ten in the first season. She ended up getting hired soon after. The same can be said about Alicia Fox and Brooke Adams as well. For this feature, we're only going to look at the women that made it to the final rounds of the competition and then made their mark in WWE after that.

It's time to look back on the previous four seasons of the Diva Search and find out who were the most successful divas that WWE hired after they were a part of this fierce competition.
