10 Best WWE Feuds From The 2000s

3. Triple H Vs. The Rock

The reason this feud worked so well was because they were both around the same age, they were pushed as midcarders around the same time and when it was their time to step up to become main event players they were ready for it. Their midcard feud over the IC Title in 1998 was really good thanks to a Ladder Match at SummerSlam that year. By the time we got into the 2000s, both were established main event players that were set to face off with Rock in the babyface role while Triple H was the heel. In 2000, every PPV was headlined by either Rock or HHH and they were in the same match in the main event 6 of the 12 PPVs. In other words, they were the workhorses of the company with Steve Austin injured. If you go back to watch their PPV main event matches at Backlash and Judgment Day in 2000 you can hear how much the crowd was into everything they did. The Backlash match had one of the most exciting finishes ever with a really hot crowd. At Judgment Day they had an Ironman that was really entertaining. They had an incredible rivalry. Should The Rock return to a WWE ring one more time, it wouldn't be a bad idea to renew an old rivalry with Triple H. That would be a fun case of nostalgia.
