10 Best WWE Raw Endings Ever

2. Shane McMahon Buys WCW

March 26 2001 is a date that diehard WWE fans will always remember as the day that Vince McMahon became the undisputed king of professional wrestling. On that date, Vince appeared on Raw and WCW Monday Nitro at the same time, as he had purchased his long time rival and was preparing to put them out of business. For WWE, it had been a hard fought victory. Eric Bischoff's cutthroat style of doing business combined with his arrogance and ego had played a large part in beating WWE every week in the ratings. But it was that same ego and arrogance that led to WCW's eventual demise. By the time that Vince had bought them out, WCW was nothing more than a near lifeless husk, a shell of what they used to be. It was a historic night on Raw, perhaps the biggest night ever. But then the end came and everything suddenly became a lot more interesting. Vince had spent the entire night gloating about his victory over his competition and decided to end the program by cutting a promo in the ring to continue his celebration. But then Shane McMahon suddenly showed up on the Titantron and it became very evident very quickly that he was not in the building for Raw; he was on Nitro. When Shane made the announcement that he had bought WCW out from underneath his father, fans were stunned. No one had expected that swerve and even though it was all done for storyline purposes, it only reinforced the fact that no one was better at pulling off the last minute shocker than Vince McMahon. The fate of WCW stars as well as WWE Superstars was very much unknown when Raw and Nitro went off the air that night. And that fact alone proves why it stands as one of the greatest endings of all time. Fans couldn't wait to see what happened next, as Monday Night Raw once again had been must-see TV.
