7. The Undertaker

They say you should start as you mean to go on, and Undertaker seemed to take that advice on board when he embarked on his maiden year in WWE in November 1990. 'The Deadman' quickly established himself as one of the company's most promising young performers and - in the era of character wrestlers - became noted for his dark persona, which saw him made the antagonist of squeaky clean good guys like Hulk Hogan.

It was Hogan who 'Taker beat for the WWF Championship, at Survivor Series 1991, to claim his first of seven world titles. That followed hot on the heels of a WrestleMania victory over Jimmy Snuka, which marked the beginning of his 21-match winning streak on the 'Grandest Stage of Them All'. Few had a better first year - and just about no-one had a better career.
