6. Team Smackdown - Batista, JBL, Randy Orton, Bobby Lashley & Rey Mysterio (Survivor Series 2005)
In 2005, a rivalry between Eric Bischoff of Raw, and Teddy Long of Smackdown led to both men creating teams to settle their differences. After weeks of attacks, and invasions of each others shows, their teams met at Survivor Series to settle the score. Although Teddy Long was on the #2 show Smackdown, he had access to superior talent, due to most of Raws major star power being engaged in their own feuds. Team Smackdown had an awesome mix of faces and heels including the World Heavyweight Champion Batista, former world champions JBL, and Randy Orton, a young powerhouse in Bobby Lashley, and Rey Mysterio who was inheriting all of the proxy Eddie Guerrero love. Additionally, this was at the height of the Raw vs Smackdown brand split so it felt like a big deal when Smackdown turned back Shawn Michaels, Big Show, Kane Carlito, and Chris Masters. Its interesting that Smackdown always seemed to beat Raw in these team challenges. This mix of talent resonated the same way Eddie Guerreros 2004 team did. It showcased veteran talent while highlighting the present and future. This match was Randy Ortons 3rd in a row being the Sole Survivor.
