10 Best WWE Title Matches In Royal Rumble History

6. Bret Hart Vs. Razor Ramon (1993)

1992 had seen the start of a shift in mentality for Vince McMahon and the WWF. Looking to move away from the dominating presence of Hulk Hogan, the company put some serious stock behind Bret Hart towards the end of the year. By WrestleMania IX in the Spring of 1993, Hogan would be back as champion, but it was refreshing to see some new faces given a crack at the main event scene for a short time nonetheless. One of those new faces was the recently-debuted Razor Ramon. A typically brash heel, Ramon was the perfect foil for the heroic sensibilities of Bret Hart's 'Hitman' character. At the '93 Royal Rumble, Razor and Bret locked horns and provided a tremendous tussle over the WWF Heavyweight Title. By a long way, the match was the best on the undercard, one which lacked real excitement. For example, Shawn Michaels vs. Marty Jannetty should have been much better than it was. Thankfully, Ramon and Hart picked up the slack. There was nothing especially fancy about their contest, it was simply well-paced and ended with a satisfying babyface victory. Ramon also proved that he belonged near the top of the card, performing well and not looking out of place in the main event heel role.
