10 Best WWE Women Wrestlers Of 2016
8. Carmella
How long would the odds have been on Carmella having a great second half of the year on SmackDown Live? When Enzo and Big Cass moved to the main roster the night after WrestleMania without her, the writing seemed to be on the wall for the Princess of Staten Island. Without the loudmouth duo, many questioned her relevance in the company.
Carmella found herself drafted to SmackDown Live, and after a fairly uncomfortable couple of weeks changed everything for herself with a heel turn that nobody saw coming. It wasn't the method of turning heel that surprised people, just that 'Carmella as singles heel' hadn't really crossed the minds of many.
Since then Carmella has been embroiled in a feud with Nikki Bella (who misses out here on account of being injured all year long), and despite coming out on the losing side in the long run the beef has more than established Carmella as an important part of SmackDown Live's women's division. Carmella had a better year than she truly had any right to have.
