The WWE are currently on tour in the UK, and have been visiting our shores since 1989. Every major star in the American wrestling business has touched down on these shores, from 80s legends like Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, Attitude era stars like The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels, to stars still with the company today, like Triple H, The Undertaker and John Cena. The WWE's British business has gone through several cycles of peaks and troughs, and at times, the UK market was one of the financial cornerstones of a struggling company. In the early 1990s, while domestic business was at an all time low, the UK market was somewhere that Vince could still take his product and come home with a suitcase full of dollars. As time has moved on, the WWE has entered several more international markets, from traditional wrestling hotbeds like Mexico and Japan, to developing nations like India and China. This has resulted in the UK losing a little of its 'star power' in the arena of international markets, and, much like an only child who suddenly acquires a sibling, we're feeling a little bit ignored and we're wanting to claim some attention back.
