A major title change, a record-breaking performance, as well as some very notable absentees gave us plenty of drama on Sunday evening...

10. Strowman Interferes

With Chris Jericho locked inside a shark cage and suspended above the ring, it seemed likely that we’d be seeing a conclusive finish in the Universal Championship match between Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns. Until, of course, a no disqualification stipulation was added, which just about guaranteed there’d be shenanigans of some sort.

Those shenanigans did indeed arrive, they came via one of the most unexpected sources in the sizeable shape of Braun Strowman. Emerging through the crowd, Strowman quickly set his sights on Reigns, chokeslamming him onto the announce table before sending him crashing through a table in the corner.

Presumably this means we’ll soon be seeing Reigns vs. Strowman in some capacity, most likely at the Fastlane PPV in March.

That in itself isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but having done such a good job of building Strowman up, it seems slightly counter-intuitive to simply feed him to Reigns—especially with WrestleMania right around the corner.

Unless of course the plan is to stretch this feud out into WrestleMania itself. Although given the way the Rumble would later pan out, it looks like the company has other ideas for Reigns come April 2. More on that shortly.
