Who is the real WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion? In typical company style, WWE has stumbled upon its first half-decent cruiserweight championship story in years. No, Drake Maverick's firing doesn't count.

Jordan Devlin's return to NXT UK hasn't passed without controversy, but there has been no sign that this is a man that the company deem in need of punishment. Devlin has delivered some tremendously fiery promos in recent weeks, displaying great anger at the company for dismissing and forgetting him during his imposed exile. A showdown with the supposed interim champion could well be the biggest Cruiserweight Championship feud in years.

The aforementioned supposed interim champion just so happens to be a real star-in-the-making. Santos Escobar has the potential to be a big name in the company, weight limit or not. The former El Hijo del Fantasma is 100% the correct man to carry the 205lb belt moving forward, but the feud with Devlin has the potential to make both men and do something that WWE has never been able to do; make the cruiserweight division meaningful.

If booked correctly, Santos Escobar vs. Jordan Devlin could be the biggest cruiserweight title match in company history.
