10 Biggest Missed Opportunities From The Undertaker's WWE Career

5. A WrestleMania Match Against The Rock

In spite of being major players of the Attitude Era, The Undertaker and The Rock never really had a defining feud. Sure, they had a very entertaining WWE Championship program in '99 and were involved in multiple multi-man feuds over the gold in the early '00s, but they never really got the chance to have an era-defining feud the magnitude of 'Taker's multiple tussles with Stone Cold Steve Austin.

A WrestleMania match between these two would have been one hell of a headliner, wouldn't it? The man who was arguably the most popular superstar of the late Attitude and early Ruthless Aggression eras taking on the man who is arguably the most popular superstar of all time. The fans wouldn't have known who to root for and, in many ways, it could have ended up garnering a similar response to that of Hogan vs. Rock (with the audience turning on one in support of the other).

Well, that would have been the case if had taken place in recent years - which it could have. Yes, in spite of their long history with the company, the pair could have crossed paths in 2012 or 2013 at the Showcase of Immortals if WWE hadn't been so hellbent on giving us the match nobody wanted to see twice.

Their 1999 showdown is highly underrated and it was clear they both had a lot of chemistry in the ring. Had 'Taker brought his typical five-star Phenom 'Mania persona to a WrestleMania rematch, this could have been something truly spectacular.
