10 Biggest Problems Facing WWE Creative At The Moment

9. Utilising The Bloated Roster

Poor talent utilisation has been a common complaint among WWE fans for decades, and while the argument has changed somewhat in recent years, it remains pertinent. WWE current posses the most talented roster they’ve ever had, but it’s also incredibly bloated, and exciting performers often suffer as the company has to accommodate so much dead weight.

Few acts exemplify this better than American Alpha. Once NXT’s most celebrated tag team, they’re now rotting on SmackDown, and their airtime has fluctuated greatly throughout their run on the blue brand. Alpha haven’t wrestled on SmackDown since April 25th, and while roster bloat isn’t the only reason for this, it’s definitely a contributing factor.

WWE Creative are under pressure to use everyone at their disposal as often as possible. Unfortunately, holding onto such a vast number of wrestlers is a huge problem to have to work around, as it means popular fan favourites inevitably miss out from time to time. Talented, exciting performers are forced into lesser roles for the sake of including those who’ve never been over, resulting in storylines that nobody cares about, and increasingly expendable weekly television.
