10 Biggest Wrestling Scandals Of The 2020s So Far
6. WrestleMania In Saudi Arabia
This might feel like cheating, as this thing hasn't actually happened yet, but you can understand why we've included it.
Originally, WrestleMania 43 was announced for the New Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. This was exciting news for The Volunteer State, which had never hosted a Mania before. Alas, there were powerful forces working against them - powerful forces called 'money'.
In September 2025, it was announced that Mania 43 was instead going to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The city has already hosted the Royal Rumble and will become the first location outside of North America to welcome wrestling's biggest event.
WWE's partnership with the Kingdom and its much-maligned regime has been controversial right from the very start. From political scandals to wrestlers being banned from the country to the policing of female wrestlers' attire, this working relationship has never sat right with many fans.
Offering something so special to a regime with a long history of corruption and human rights abuses is nothing short of morally bankrupt. Even if WrestleMania 43 is a great show, it will still have a black mark against its name.
