Though there were smiles around ringside when Sheamus booted Daniel Bryan in the head and beat him in 18 seconds at WrestleMania XXVIII, they were born out of surprise. Incredulous that WWE had just undermined someone with the skill of Bryan, fans quickly felt letdown when the brevity of that World Title match sank in.

It wasn't an isolated incident. There are other times when WWE have left fans scratching their heads and wondering what the hell creative were smoking during pre-WrestleMania meetings.

'Mania is supposed to be the crown jewel of the WWE calendar. It's a night when every match is meant to shine brightly and everyone lucky enough to be on the card can show the world how good they are. Sometimes, that only works on paper; there have been some real stinkers over the years.

When matches that could have been disasters surpassed all expectations, it becomes more confusing when those with so much promise failed to live up to the hype. It sucks when WrestleMania leaves you feeling hollow...
