3. ...Followed By A String Of Impressive Title Defenses
While WWE made Undertakers first world title run a fluke due to controversy, they would go in a vastly different direction with Wyatt. Immediately after winning the WWEWHC, everyone would be skeptical about Wyatt as a champion. People would dismiss him as nothing more than a transitional champion, someone whos just holding the belt for someone deemed by WWEs power-brokers as more fitting to carry the company. Then, instead of that prediction coming true, Wyatt proceeds to put on the best matches of his career. He would demonstrate not only his power and already-impressive agility, but also an astonishing degree of ring psychology and ring awareness. Wyatts character work would reach new heights, and he would become a far more popular draw for WWE. Like the previous entry, this concept would follow Okadas success story. After the initial shock of his win, Okada headlined several major PPVs for NJPW and proved just how unbelievably good he had become. It was a sort of overnight sensation sort of feeling for many people; Okada had transformed so much so quickly that the audience fell in love with everything he did. Now, everyone in NJPW and in its audience considers Okada the future of the promotion. By defending the WWEWHC successfully in high-profile matches and defeating marquis opponents in competitive and exciting matches, Wyatts star power and popularity would reach completely new heights. Wyatt must show that his shocking win wasnt a fluke, and that he can hang with the best wrestlers WWE has to offer.
