10 Boring WWE Feuds That Dragged On WAY Too Long
10. Daniel Bryan Vs. Big Cass
This wasn’t what we wanted when we finally got Daniel Bryan back!
Following on from a lacklustre WrestleMania tag team bout, the SmackDown after WrestleMania saw Daniel Bryan get confronted by a returning Big Cass. The initial intrigue was there, but this didn’t feel like a step forward for Bryan. More of a step backwards.
The feud lasted for two pay-per-view cycles with the pair having a match at both Backlash and Money In The Bank. The rivalry turned out to be very simplistic David Vs. Goliath story, with the majority of heat coming from lame beat downs via the big man.
This wasn’t the return that Daniel Bryan deserved post-WrestleMania. The feud was extended again and again despite the negative fan reaction to every angle. The booking did not help. Having Bryan overcome Big Cass in their first encounter and then beat him again in their second really hurt Big Cass in the long run.
This should have been a one and done match that cemented Bryan as the top guy on SmackDown. Instead, it dragged both competitors further down the mid-card.
