2. Mr. Kennedy (WrestleMania 23)

Sticking with career-making WrestleMania Moments that actually turned out to be anything but in the end, having Mr. Kennedy walk out of Detroit as your new Mr. Money in the Bank at WrestleMania 23 seemed to make all the sense in the world back in 2007.

Kennedy could talk the talk, hold his own in-between the ropes, and sealed his biggest career win to date at that point by Green Bay Plunging Hornswoggle all the way to hell from atop a ladder. In short, he had WWE main eventer written all over him.

However, a serious tricep injury soon scrapped the last-minute plans to strap Kennedy with the World Heavyweight Championship, with Mr. MITB being in line to dethrone The Undertaker. Instead, Kennedy dropped the briefcase to Edge before his supposed tear was later diagnosed as being little more than some severe bruising.

But the damage had already been done. Kennedy lost all of that 'Mania steam, eventually ate a 30-day suspension for being named in a Wellness scandal around this time, and was finally given his marching orders after p*ssing off his colleagues post-Randy Orton botched backdrop in May 2009.
