10 Changes WWE Should Make To SmackDown Live On FOX
2. Make Latino Superstars A Focal Point
When SmackDown was first on network television, it did great numbers during the brand split. Thanks to a broader audience, the show was able to corner the latino (or latinx, if you prefer) community thanks to superstars like Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero. Latinos are only growing stronger as a consumer demographic in the United States, and it's an audience WWE haven't been proactive about courting in recent years. Sin Cara has been irrelevant for years, and Andrade "Cien" Almas, while promising in NXT, has yet to make the impact he should on SmackDown.
With Rey Mysterio coming back and SmackDown's impending move back to network TV, it's imperative that WWE have an offering of latinx superstars that creates a steady, loyal following for the blue brand. Not just Rey Mysterio and Andrade, but also the Lucha House Party on 205 Live should have prominent roles. In addition, if WWE don't have tabs on lucha sensations like Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr., they need to get their priorities straight.
The more latino superstars they have to offer and the more they give them good material, the better chance they have to be a ratings stalwart on Friday nights.
