10 Changes WWE Should Make To SmackDown Live On FOX
6. Bring Back The "Brain Scan"
Humor me, will you?
Back in the early '90s, WWE invested in technology that allowed announcers to digitally draw over slow motion replays, a practice football announcers such as John Madden made famous during his broadcasts. Used by Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, the "Brain Scan" was a short-lived device as, well, Heenan just wasn't very good at using the technology. Reportedly, Jerry Lawler, an accomplished artist, was brought in to better use the device, but ultimately, the practice of drawing on replays has not become common practice in sports entertainment.
Given that SmackDown will be a part of the FOX Sports family, it's as good an excuse as any to bring that technology back to give the matches more of an NFL vibe. Don't tell me you wouldn't get a chuckle out of Corey Graves drawing stink lines on superstars he dislikes. Or heck, if this technology was actually used in a serious manner, it would give the match psychology more accessibility to new fans as commentators point out areas of attack or wounded body parts.
But mostly, I just wanna see Corey draw stink lines on people.
